Happy Fall Y'all

Fall officially launched today and even in Texas, our nights get crisp, the leaves start to change and pumpkin spice is available for any and everything. Fall is also the perfect time to start your Laser Hair Removal Treatments, one of the most common cosmetic procedures in the U.S. Laser hair removal is a process that generally involves 6 to 9 treatment sessions spaced a few weeks apart. Because of this, if you wait until the onset of summer to begin your treatments, you won’t be able to fully enjoy your smooth results until the following season rolls around. So schedule your first laser hair removal appointment NOW so that you’ll be able to flaunt your amazing results all summer long… next year.

What Is Laser Hair Removal?

This is the perfect procedure for men and women
who are FED-UP with constant shaving, tweezing, bleaching or waxing. Having a laser hair removal treatment leaves your skin smoother and without the razor bumps that we all have experienced and despise!

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Lasers safely remove unwanted facial and body
hair by selectively targeting melanin (pigment) inside the hair follicle. This works by generating energy in the form of heat at the root of the hair, and destroying the hair without damaging the skin. Many patients want laser hair removal because the procedure is so quick and painless.

Common Areas Treated For Hair Removal

Most common areas treated for laser hair
removal include the following:
  • Abdomen
  • Back
  • Beard with Throat
  • Bikini
  • Brazilian
  • Buttocks
  • Cheeks
  • Chest
  • Chin
  • Ears
  • Eyebrows
  • Feet
  • Forehead
  • Full Legs w/Bikini
         Line
  • Genitals
  • Hairline
  • Half Arms
  • Hands
  • Head
  • Neck
  • Shoulders
  • Thighs
  • Underarms

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of treatments required for long-term
benefits depends on the area being treated, your hair density, and the hair’s growth cycle. There are three phases of hair growth — Anagen (active), Catagen
(regression) and Telogen (resting). Laser technology is designed to treat hair in the Anagen phase of growth. Although each client is unique, experience tells us that you can expect an average of 6-9 treatments spaced 6 to 12 weeks apart, depending on the body location of the unwanted hair.

Additional factors listed below influence hair growth and play a role in the location, thickness, and
resilience of your hair.
  • Age
  • Ethnicity
  • Weight
  • Hormones
  • Diet
  • Medication
  • Metabolism

How Long Is the Laser Hair Removal Treatment Session?

The length of an individual laser hair removal
treatment is determined by the density of hair growth and overall size of the area to be treated. Small areas may take as little as 15 minutes, while larger areas, such as the back and legs, may require up to an hour.

What Type of Lasers Are Used?

Big Country Laser Center uses the world’s most advanced lasers. Triton by INMODE lasers offer optimal multi-wavelengths for hair removal and are customized based on the individual’s needs. Our lasers provide the capability to perform laser hair removal on all skin types, no matter the texture or skin tone.

How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Cost?

Compared to a lifetime of temporary solutions like waxing, shaving, bleaching or purchasing depilatory creams, laser hair removal is very affordable. The price is based on the size of the area to be treated. Our small area packages of 6 sessions is only $450.00!

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

Most individuals experience no more than a slight stinging sensation as the laser pulses are applied. Some parts of the body do tend to be more sensitive than others. It’s fast, safe and effective for all skin tones.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works

3/27/2019

Laser tattoo removal simply speeds up the natural fading process that happens to tattoos over time.

At Big Country Laser Center, our powerful Q-switched laser, the
Astanza Trinity, is designed to remove all colors of tattoo ink trapped within the skin without damaging the surrounding skin tissue.

The laser uses light energy to penetrate the skin, heat up the tattoo ink particles, and shatter it into fragments.

Over the weeks following each treatment, the shattered ink is flushed away by the body’s immune system. As the ink is flushed away, the appearance of the tattoo lightens.

Q-switched lasers offer a unique solution to removing tattoo ink, as they are the only way of effectively shattering the tattoo ink without causing permanent effects to the skin.

Laser tattoo removal can truly leave your skin looking as if the tattoo never existed.

Multiple laser treatments are necessary for virtually all tattoos, as there are layers of ink within the skin, and each treatment only shatters the shallowest layer of ink.

Most patients need 5 to 10 treatments to achieve complete removal, and the number of treatments needed will vary depending on the colors of your tattoo, the age of your tattoo, the depth of the ink in the skin, and the strength of the immune system.

During your free tattoo removal consultation at Big Country Laser Center, we’ll provide an assessment of your tattoo to give you an idea of what to expect with the laser tattoo removal process.

It takes a little time to undo something that was meant to be permanent!  Tattoo removal is a process, and takes time. Most all tattoos will require more than one session to remove entirely.  Many factors will influence the actual number of treatments needed : age of tattoo, color, location, size ……just to name a few.  Call to schedule a free consultation and to get a quote.

AfterCare Instructions

3/20/2019

The tattoo removal laser treatment may create a superficial burn wound. Some patients may experience bruising or swelling. There is immediate whitening of the treated area, which usually lasts for several minutes. Many clients then develop blisters, crusts, or scabs within 8-72 hours, which may last for 1-2 weeks or more. The treated areas may be pink or pale after the scab separates. Scarring, which can be hypertrophic or even keloid, can occur but is very rare.  Loss of skin pigment in the treated area can occur, and is temporary except in very rare cases. Healing is usually complete within 4 weeks, although this may vary.
  1. Keep the treated area clean and dry while it is healing. Clean the area gently with soap and water and then pat the area dry. You may apply a thin coating of antibiotic ointment up to three times a day for 3 days while the area is healing and you should keep the area covered with a sterile dressing for those 3 days.
  2. Blistering is common and is likely to occur 8 hours after your treatment. Do not be alarmed, blisters heal very well and are part of the normal healing process. Blisters indicate your body’s immune system is healing the area and beginning to remove the ink from your tattoo.  It is natural for blisters to pop, and this helps the skin to heal faster in many cases.  Continue to put antibiotic ointment over the blisters once they have popped for at least 24 hours.
  3. You may apply cool compresses as necessary for 24 hours after the laser treatment to help reduce discomfort and inflammation. You may take plain Tylenol, but avoid aspirin (it can increase the risk of bruising and/or bleeding.)
  4. Do not pick at the scab or allow the skin to become scraped, as this may result in infection and scarring. Shaving should be avoided in the treated area until it is completely healed.
  5. Feel free to shower 2 hours after the treatment, but take care to avoid high pressure water hitting the treated area.  Baths, hot tubs, swimming pool, or any form of soaking aren’t recommended until all blistering and scabbing are completely healed, as they may increase the risk of infection.
  6. Exercise is generally safe after treatment, taking into account the other after care instructions provided here.
  7. Wear a sun block with an SPF of 25 or higher over the area for 3 months following the treatment.  Do not wear makeup or any cream or medication on or near the treated area unless recommended by our office for 48 hours.
  8. Itching is very common due to the dehydrating effect of the laser treatment.  Use Aquaphor, vitamin E ointment, or hydrocortisone cream to the treatment area.
  9. If the area looks infected (honey colored crusting and oozing or spreading redness), if you experience an unusual discomfort or bleeding, if any other complications develop, or if you have any questions or concerns, contact the office immediately.
  10. Of course, if you have any extreme reaction, call 911 and go to the emergency department.
